I sit here, thinking about my emotional healing journey. My anger has been a key tool in my recovery. Growing up, trauma impacted how I view myself. I’ve been tied up in knots from fear and shame messaging as a kid.

The voice inside my head is overwhelmingly critical. But using my anger helped me break free from those old chains.

Many see anger as something negative, something to hide or control. But anger is a natural way to react to wrongs and harm. It signals you that you need to act, to stand up for yourself.

Yet, if you don’t handle it right, anger hurts you, making you feel alone and unfulfilled.

For me, finding healthy ways to let out my anger changed everything.

Mindfulness, journaling, and meditating have really helped. By letting my anger out in healthy ways, I’ve found clarity and purpose.

It’s like I’ve found a lost — authentic — part of me.
